Fourth Annual Holiday Sale

The 4th annual holiday sale will be on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 8:00am to 1:00 pm in the Church sanctuary.  Vendors are sought to sell holiday items.  Six foot tables with two chairs may be reserved for $15 each on a  first come, first served basis.  Net proceeds from the revenue will be donated to the Sullivan Emergency Services fund which helps with utility bills in our community.

Community Garden Harvest 2014

The pieces of potatoes that were planted last March sprouted and grew all spring and part of the summer.  On August 4 they were dug and yielded about 200 pounds.  The two ladies who planted them presented the harvest to the Meramec Mission food pantry, who received them with gratitude.


Annual Garden Sale

The annual garden sale featuring plants and other gardening  items was held Saturday April 26,2014,  It opened at 8:00 am and was well attended.  Approximately $500 was earned and many of the greater community became more familiar with the folks at Peace Lutheran


Paul Kuhn Memorial Garden Shed Installed

Funds from the Paul Kuhn memorial were used to purchase a garden shed to be used for storing a lawn mower, other outdoor equipment and some seasonal supplies.  It fulfills the wish of Paul's family in support of the mission of Peace Lutheran Church.


Lenten Services

Beginning March 5, 2014 we will have Lenten services every Wednesday until Easter.  Services will start at 7:00 pm but there will be a pot luck dinner and fellowship beginning at 6:00 pm.  Everyone welcome.

Trivia Night a Great Success

The annual Trivia Night was conducted on February 8, 2014 inside the sanctuary of Peace Lutheran.  By all accounts it was a tremendous success - everyone reported a fun evening and some $2,500 was raised for local charities ($600 was contributed by Thrivent).  A lot of canned goods were also collected for local food banks.  Everyone received an attendance prize and prizes were given out for best food arrangement, best table decorations, etc.  Table 13 won the grand prize ($100) for doing the best on the quizzes (and they generously donated to prize money back to the net proceeds!).

Thanks to all the workers who brought this event off for the good of all.  We are looking forward to next year.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

Members, family and friends gathered at the church for a Christmas Eve service that featured Holy Communion and a candle lighting ceremony wherein the Light that the Darkness cannot quench was celebrated.




Quilt Raffle Winners Announced

The drawing to select winners in the raffle for the beautiful hand-made quilt made and donated by Rovina Schebaum was held after worship services on December 15, 2013.  First prize (the quilt) was won by Vicki McWhorter.  Second prize ($25) was won by Linda Beckett and third prize ($10) was awarded to Katherine Rutsch.  Some $429.25 was turned over to the Church Treasurer to be applied towards the balance of the mortgage debt on the church.  Thanks to all who bought tickets.
