 Pastor Ed Hatcher

Pastor Ed Hatcher is a retired Air Force chaplain and Licensed Professional Counselor working for Lutheran Family and Children Services of Missouri. Ordained in 1980, he served parishes in Western North Dakota before returning to the Air Force as a chaplain in 1982. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 2007 he pursued a degree in mental health counseling, and is currently completing his doctorate in pastoral counseling through Argosy University. Still active in addressing the concerns of military families and veterans he authored the Care for Returning Veterans program for the ELCA, and was instrumental in the development of the Heroes Care Curriculum used for training Stephen ministers to work with military families under the auspices of the Heroes Care Program of Operation Home Front. He continues to train emergency service chaplains and disaster responders across the country as an approved instructor for the Federation of Fire Chaplains and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. He resides in Chesterfield, Missouri, with his wife Becky.
